Puttur: Day-long workshop on ‘Know Your Skills’ held at St Philomena College

Puttur, Dec 16: On the occasion of diamond jubilee celebrations, department of Office Administration of St Philomena College here, organized a day-long workshop on the topic ‘Know Your Skills’ on December 14.

The registrar (Evaluation) of Mangalore University Prof A M Khan in his inaugural address said, “In the present day scenario, administrative and support staff play a significant role as a step between teachers and students.”



Campus director and chairperson of PG Studies of the college Fr Dr Antony Prakash Monteiro in his key note address said, “Administrative staffs are the face of the institution.”

Principal Prof Leo Noronha, retired deputy tahsildar J P Rodrigues and the principal of St Philomena PU College Fr Vijay Lobo participated as the guests of honour. Secretary of Catholic Board of Education, Mangaluru Fr Gerald D’Souza presided over the programme.

Sahana Rao and team invoked God’s blessings through a prayer. The office superintendent of the college and the convener of workshop Victorian Fernandes welcomed the gathering. Senior first division assistant Louis D’Souza delivered the vote thanks. Second division assistants Sudeep Vas and Mariet Shirly D’Souza compered the programme.

In the technical sessions, Victorian Fernandes, convener of the Workshop, Veeru Uppi, co-proprietor of Aargees Business Solutions Hubli, Ramananda, office superintendent of MSRS College Shirva, Krishnamoorthy, officer of department of Income Tax, Mangaluru and Venkatesh Mittanthaya of Quality Media Dot Com, Udupi participated as resource persons. The administrative staffs from various aided, unaided and government first grade colleges affiliated to Mangalore University participated as delegates.
