Mangaluru: 12th annual Rotary quiz trophy held

Mangaluru, Dec 16: Rotary Club of Baikampady team represented by Rtn Subodh Kumar Das and Rtn Prasad Prabhu clinched the 12th annual prestigious Rotary quiz trophy by securing 210 points. The Rotary Club of Mysuru Vijayanagar represented by Rtn H M Harish secured 110 points and was declared the runner-up.

Rotary Club of Mangaluru central, as a part of the Rotary movement awareness campaign conducted their 12th annual district level ‘Inter Club Rotary Quiz’ contest on Friday, December 15 at Eden Club, Mangaluru. The quiz was based exclusively on Rotary related affairs, matters and issues.

Rotary district governor elect Rtn Rohinath graced the occasion as chief guest. In his address he lauded the leadership qualities of Dr Rai and his invaluable contributions to the Rotary movement. He awarded the Rotary trophy, certificates and cash prizes of Rs 3,000 to the winners and runners up and congratulated them on their achievements.

As many as 13 teams from Mangaluru, Baikampady, Surathkal, Panambur, Deralakatte abd Mysuru participated in the contest. Rtn Dr Devdas Rai was the quiz master who conducted the closely contested quiz. Assistant governor zone-3 Rtn Rajendra Kalbavi was the guest of honour. He released the weekly club news bulletin ‘Centor’. Club president Rtn Raymond D’Cunha presided over the function. Zonal lieutenant Rtn Anil Gonsalves was present. Secretary Rtn Prakash Chandra rendered the vote of thanks.
