Kasargod, Dec 16: A cricket player collapsed on the playground at Miyapadavu near Manjeshwar in the taluk and died due to cardiac arrest while the play was in progress.

Padmanabha Jodukallu (25) is the deceased.

Padmanabha Jodukallu was bowling in under arm cricket premier league at Miyapadavu school ground when the shocking incident happened.

Padmanabha had to bowl the last ball of the over when he collapsed. The players rushed him to the hospital, but he died on the way.

“The tournament was cancelled after the incident,” said the cricket association.
