Daijiworld Media Network - Mangaluru (SP)

Mangaluru, Dec 17: MLA, J R Lobo, stated that the chief minister has sanctioned a sum of Rs 60 lac for undertaking works at Nanthoor circle in the city, where traffic snarls and accidents have become common occurrences. He also informed that works here are slated to begin in January 2018.

Speaking to media persons in the city, Lobo clarified that tender has already been called for the works here. "Tender will be opened on December 24. I will instruct the concerned to begin work on the circle without any delay," he assured.

INTERCHANGE is needed in this place .

If they don't know what is INTERCHANGE they should check some gulf county highways. There is natural ground level difference which can be made use of for making flyover from Alvarez centre to the existing highest.
This flyover should be wide enough to allow for 2 lane traffic going towards mallikatte by providing a half turn from flyover to go under the bridge towards mallikatte.
Vehicles from bikarnakatte to shivbag will go under the flyover .
Free left is provided for vehicles going to bikarnakatte from Alvarez centre .and to shivbag by providing small a signal and u turn at signal .

This will solve the problem .

The whole project will cost a lot of money. However Mr. J.R. Lobo has taken the initial step to do at least some work which is very essential. No doubt the Centre should take up the job for a flyover and save lives.

Hope the concerned people will now step in and obtain adequate funds and take up the work.

Time to time paint jobs should stop. This 60 lakhs that you are talking about will neither address the problem fully not stop accidents. Knee jerk reactions to put a lid as the problem brews out of view. Once fine day a major problem happens and only then our representatives wake up to bring in qualified people to find an engineering solution. Till then 10 , 20 ,50 ,100 lakh paint jobs will take place.

Respected Sir, I have had great regards for your works & committment towards social cause. Kindly request you to please put the 60 lakhs on hold . Unless a blueprint is created for the project, no point in sanctioning the money. If you look at the flyover at kulshekar, there was needless expenditure. Am sure we dont want the same fate to happen at nanthoor. Please put the blueprint for Public opinion rather than executing the project. Sir please dont work on this if it is for the intention of winning the upcoming election. Your work speaks for itself. We rather have a proper Blueprint in place which can be displayed and take the public opinion sir. Nanthoor accidents if you see are all caused due to human error, if someone is determined to break the law, you cant do anything about it. Lets not have a knee jerk reaction is my honest recommendation.

Since NH comes under the purview of Central Government our 'Fireman' Nalin should take up this issue with concerned authorities at the national level and find a solution. Why is he so lethargic and inefficient?

Why do you have to wait for somebody to die ? Last 4 years were in deep sleep as soon as elections are nearing, tender is given. Even to watch your multi crores rich people's fountain in Kadri , they have to travel through this same dangerous junction. The lady who lost her life, hope she gets compensated properly without checking which religion she is from.

People will not forget and will be ready to answer in next elections.

JB, Mlore, at least he is doing his best though it is NH affair, while MP is in deep sleep or busy with burning issues though. He may win again with religion agenda without attending this. I must agree it should be a multi crore project with underpass and fly over or clover leaf bridge. Wish the responsible NH team wakes up ASAP upon central leadership efforts. I heard PM responds quickly on public grievances, hope some one genuinely concerned would speak to Gadkari!!!!! It is a matter of grave concern and GadKari is alerted, though it is very late! They cry foul on 60 years rule....could not fix it in 4 years though many precious lives perished by utter carelessness.
I wish with these 60 lakhs they will install signals though we need to wait, some discipline will be installed with 24X7 working cameras to punish violators.

60 lakhs passed for this project!! u mean you need 60 more years to complete this project . Only money gets passed on time not the project. So many flyover work is pending is moving in tortoise speed no one is concerned about that ! Why our political leaders are silent on yethinahole project ? They know two days people raise their voices after that they will go with the flow ! Political leaders if you want votes of Tulunaadu people you have to care about their needs too.
