Riyadh: KWAR to host multiple events from Jan 19

Riyadh, Jan 16: Karavali Welfare Association Riyadh, Saudi Arabia (KWAR) conducted a press meet on January 15 under the chairmanship of Santhosh Shetty, to announce the following events of the organisation in the upcoming days.

Felicitation of Air India general manager Kundalal Gothwal

The committee invited Kundalal Gothwal, Air India, general manager for Saudi Arabia and felicitated him with a shawl and flower bouquet. KWAR general secretary Nelson D’Souza spoke about the valuable contributions of Kundanlal to the community in and around Riyadh and specially his support to the KWAR charity activities and direct flight efforts from Riyadh to Mangaluru. KWAR credited Kundanlal for his many initiatives and continuous efforts done in creating a working file in support of the direct flight project. KWAR thanked Kundanlal for many initiatives taken for the Indian immigrants during the amnesty period. Kundanlal in his turn spoke about the sufferings of NRI’s abroad and expressed his heartfelt feelings and various initiatives he had taken to help the Indians in KSA. KWAR president Santhosh Shetty thanked
Kundanlal and requested him to be KWAR link in India and wished him to come back to KSA as an ambassador.



National Kabaddi League

KWAR announced its mega sporting event of 2018, the National Kabaddi League in Riyadh scheduled to be held on January 19 at ISKAN grounds in Riyadh. The support and interest shown by the sports loving public in KSA is tremendous as 12 teams have already registered for the tournament so far. It is encouraging to note that teams from Jeddah and Dammam and Jubail will participate in this prestigious tournament.

Blood donation camp

KWAR in association with KFMC (King Fahad Medical City), Riyadh has organized a blood donation camp in Riyadh on January 26 to mark and celebrate India’s republic day. KWAR has invited all Indian nationals in Riyadh to support this noble cause and help the drive ‘Donate Blood and Save a Life’. This is KWAR’s second such initiative in ‘Blood Donation’ after the maiden effort in 2017 which was successful with 200 people participating in the event.

KWAR cultural event and 10th year souvenir

KWAR’s mega event for the year 2018 is scheduled tentatively on April 19 and KWAR has invited all the Kannadigas to support the event. During the event, a souvenir will be unveiled to mark the 10th year of KWAR in public service in KSA. KWAR president Santhosh Shetty requested all sponsors to participate in the event by advertising their business. Individuals and families can contribute by publishing their family photos in the souvenir by contributing a small amount as charity. The souvenir will have special articles for known and famous personalities in KSA and from India.
