Kundapur: Preliminary meeting for unique 'Matsya Sangama' held

Kundapur, Jan 17: The fishermen's arm of BJP, Udupi has scheduled a unique programme titled 'Matsya Sangama 2018' on Sunday, January 21 afternoon at Kinara beach, Kodi road.

District level Tug of war competition for men, fishing competition, creation of sand sculpture and drawing competition relating to sea and fishing will be held for students. Elderly fishermen will be felicitated.

Several preparations of fish dishes, exhibition and sale of aquarium fish, cultural programme by state level award winners, entertainment programmes, comedy by Maja Talkies troupe will be held. Mungaru Male film fame, golden star Ganesh will be a special attraction.



More than 4,000 people are expected to gather. The programme will continue till 10.30 pm said district convener Sadananda Balkuru.

BJP block president Suresh Shetty Kadooru, fishermen's federation president Yashpal Suvarna, BJP district vice president Suprasad Shetty Bykadi, zilla panchayat member Srilatha Suresh Shetty, Laxmi Manju Billava, BJP Parishat member Mohandas Shenoy, chief secretary Bhasker Billava, taluk panchayat president Jayashree Mogaveera, Shanker Putran Kota, Girish Salian, Narayan Billava, Monohar Kunder, Dinesh Kotian, Santhosh Mogaveera, Pradeep Kunder and others were present.
