Can't let blood stains soil our car: UP cops abandon 2 teens to die on road

Saharanpur, Jan 20 (Deccan Chronicle): In a shocking incident that exposed the insensitivity of some policemen, two youth, victims of a road accident, were left to die on Thursday midnight in Uttar Pradesh's Saharanpur.

In a video that has gone viral, two teenagers lay bleeding on the road with three policemen just standing around doing nothing. Their main concern was that the "blood of the seriously wounded boys would soil their vehicle", a report in NDTV said.

Even after repeated requests from an acquaintance of one of the two teenagers, the policemen stood firm with their decision to not take them in.

"They are also somebody's children... I request you," the acquaintance is heard pleading in the video.

"Nobody else has a car here. Take them," another man is heard saying to the cops.

Someone from the accident scene was heard saying to the cops that the vehicle could be washed.

To this they retorted, "If the car gets washed, then where will we sit all night".

The two boys identified as Arpit Khurana and Sunny - both 17 - met with an accident and were lying in a pool of blood as the policemen continued to stand around.

The policemen were on night patrol duty as part of the state police's Dial 100 project.

While some pleaded with the cops to drive the boys to a hospital, others tried to flag down passing vehicles for help but were unsuccessful.

By the time another vehicle from the local police arrived, it was too late. On arrival at a hospital, the boys were declared "brought dead" by the doctors.

After the incident, the police department suspended the three cops on Friday.

"We have taken exemplary action against the three cops. We cannot tolerate the kind of inhuman treatment that was meted out to those in dire need of help. They (the three cops) are already under suspension. If, after the inquiry that has been set up, their irresponsible and immoral conduct is conclusively established, further action will be taken against them," DIG (Saharanpur range) Sunil Emannuel told Times Of India.

Most inhuman. Deliberately leaving to die amounts to murder because there is a duty (solemn duty for police) to do everything possible and help. Justice should be meted out to them.

It is certainly time for CM Yogi to learn something from Karnataka on CM Siddaramaiah advice.
If one travel through express highways of Uttar Pradesh after paying tolls one can see abandon cows resting in the middle of the highways bringing dead stop to the moving vehicles. It is estimated to be more than 5000 Gau mata's are abandon even after the last call given by CM Yogi for tough action.
One can see many dead cows being hit in short stretch scavenged by dogs and birds with stench emanating miles.
In other hand in CM Yogi's state reported more than 400 encounters in less than one year of his ruling. Despite being tough administrator crime rate has increased to all time high. Sexual abuse against women is highest in decade.
Certainly blood stains may soil cops car, what about the blood soaked hands?
After more than 10,000 deaths of children's deaths in Gorakhpur government run hospitals due to basic health care facility, now accident victims are let to die in PM Modi's 'Uttam Pradesh'.
It should be noted that CM Yogi's government has recently started ambulance service to attend accident hit 'cows'. But lives of humans are grossly in negligible state.

Why just suspend ? Dismiss them today. Then only our govt officials will learn to respect other fellow citizens . Did they buy the car from their money? It is the tax payers money. The boys and their family pays tax when they buy some goods / petrol, as everything is taxed. The video evidence is right in front of you . What investigation you want to conduct ?
Because of this suspension culture and govt officials are lazy and think they can behave like this. In pvt firms employees dismissed for any bad conduct . That practice should come in govt offices.
