Riyadh: KWAR organises blood donation camp

Riyadh, Jan 29: Karavali Welfare Association (KWAR) successfully conducted their second blood donation drive on January 26 as part of their Republic Day celebrations. KWAR is celebrating their 10 year in service to needy Indians and specially people from costal Karnataka.

King Fahad Medical City Riyadh gave all the help in conducting the event. Nearly 150 people took part in this drive which was inaugurated by Anil Nautiyal, counselor (Community Welfare) Embassy of India and KWAR president Santosh Shetty and almost all executive office bearers were present along with some other leaders from various Indian social communities which are a testimony to KWAR’s key slogan of ‘Unity is our strength’. It reflected in the Blood Donation Drive which was well organized and supported by one and all. King Fahad Medical City’s blood bank staff provided all the required logistical arrangements for the campaign. The participants were given breakfast, snacks, lunch, water and soft drinks throughout the day.



KWAR president thanked all the staff at KFMC Blood Bank and specially thanked Abdullah, head nurse James, Eli and Venu Madhav and other staff for their gracious support without which this event would not be possible. The ground support of the KWAR Executive committee members and volunteers was exemplary. The other major groups that supported the campaign are BARSA Riyadh, G3 Group Riyadh, Konkani Kutam Riyadh (KKR), Jamiyatul Falah, Indian Fraternity Forum, employees of Soft Touch, and employees from Saudi Carpet who participated in major numbers. He also thanked all the donors who took part in the noble cause by sacrificing their weekend holiday.

KWAR is indebted to all the donors who made the day a ‘special one’ by contributing in a symbolic way to the people of Saudi Arabia through the blood donation campaign. KWAR also thanks its Women's Wing who supported this noble cause voluntarily donating blood. The overwhelming response from Indian community, especially from coastal Karnataka made KWAR proud. The president promised more blood donation drives in future and requested all KWAR supporters to join them in all other activities of KWAR. All the blood donors will be honored with certificates from King Fahad Medical City and KWAR is indebted to them for their generosity.

    Karavali Welfare Association has done a wonderful Job in conducting this Noble event. The community support was excellent and the KFMC staff was supportive. May God bless all KWAR Volunteers and Donors who contributed to this cause. We thank Anil Nautiyal, the Indian Embassy community welfare officer who visited the Camp and encouraged the Donors and volunteers.
