Kuwait: TKK managing committee meets new Indian ambassador Jeeva Sagar

Kuwait, Feb 14: Newly elected members of the managing committee for 2018 recently met Indian ambassador to Kuwait, K Jeeva Sagar.

TKK managing committee members met the Indian ambassador at his office in Indian Embassy Kuwait. TKK president, Wilson D’Souza congratulated Jeeva Sagar on his appointment as new Indian ambassador to Kuwait and handed over a flower bouquet as a token of gratitude. The general secretary Jagadeeshwara Shanubhogue handed over a set of documents containing details of newly elected members of management committee. He also briefed about the association and its various activities along with the souvenir released during the cultural event Rasamanjari and Tuluparba 2017.

All the committee members delivered a brief self-introduction, TKK president presented a briefing on the history and objectives of the association and explained how the association is working toward its main objective 'unity through language'. Furthermore, the members present explained to the ambassador about the activities planned for the year namely Rasamanjari and Tulu Parba which showcase the culture and tradition of Tulunadu. General secretary updated the ambassador of the various welfare activities of the association and tried to reach the underpriveledged and needy in society. He added to the contributions made by the association under its welfare project 'Glimmer of Hope and Project Education'.

In addition, there was discussions about the members of the association and support to them by the association. Involvement of the association in blood donation camp and free medical checkup camp including other events of the association to bring the members together for family get-together and many other topics were discussed during the meeting.

The ambassador was delighted with the enthusiasm of the committee members and was keen to know about the association and its activities. He advised the management committee members to take all possible initiatives to involve all the members of the association especially spouses and kids in all activities for the success of the association in the long run. He also added that proactive involvement in any organization should not isolate any community or group from society in large and should always work with society and not as an individual or isolated group which will affect unity and social life in general.

He assured all possible support through the embassy and conveyed his best wishes.
