Bengaluru: Mohammed Nalapad appears in court, tells supporters not to worry

Daijiworld Media Network – Bengaluru (RJP)

Bengaluru, Feb 22: Mohammed Harris Nalapad appeared in the 8th additional chief metropolitan magistrate court amid heavy presence of police personnel on Wednesday, February 21. His bail application was rejected and he was remanded to judicial custody.

Mohammed Nalapad (24), son of Congress legislator N A Harris, is the prime suspect in the brawl at Farzi Cafe in UB City on the night of February 17. Nalapad and six of his associates are accused of assaulting L Vidwath, who was also dining in that cafe.

Supporters of Nalapad had filed through the corridor to greet him, when he was being brought to the court with other suspects. He waved to his supporters and said there was nothing to worry.

Soon after Nalapad entered the courtroom, he did not greet the magistrate with folded hands and a bow as is the custom. He only stood straight with hands on his back.

Nalapad was seen observing the proceedings. He kept looking at the judge M Mahesh Babu closely.

When Special Public Prosecutor M S Shyamsundar sought Nalapad’s judicial custody and the rejection of his bail application, Nalapad looked disappointed. When the judge remanded all the suspects in judicial custody until March 7, Nalapad looked at him in disbelief.

Police allowed Nalapad to shake hands with his supporters while escorting him out of the courtroom.

M S Shyamsundar, the special public prosecutor, has written a letter to Police Commissioner T Suneel Kumar seeking police protection. He has said that he had overheard Nalapad's supporters talking about targeting him.

best part of the article is "Police allowed Nalapad to shake hands with his supporters while escorting him out of the courtroom". That itself shows our system. first thing, he is a bloody criminal... pull him along with his shackles. why give such a VIP treatment allowing him to shook hands... Another sad part if that , there is still a huge support wing for such a criminal also.... worst part of the story... why the hell anybody go there and try to shake hands with him who is convicted for a crime... OMG , what a system...

Why people like to vote criminal politicians on priority basis hence most of the corrupt politicians start their political beginning with a crime and spending at least few days in jail record.

Only educated people can teach them a lesson on a ballot.
    People can bring changes,
Only Chaddi supporters are ready to do anything for a 750ml bottle like targeting even prosecutor as well.

    Dear Mr Ramesh M,

I have clicked 'Agree' to your comment for the simple reason that you are right. As righty quoted.... "Congress leaders said educated vote for BJP and illeterate, less educated vote for Congress.."

The highly educated are more dangerour than the less educated or illiterates ones. They get educated abroad secure degrees from top foreign universities get into businesses and finally end up looting the country in millions & billions. These class of people always are either members or supporters of BJP.

I was always saying this. Due to the appeasement policy of the Khangress Govt in the state, many from Kerala have migrated towards Blore, Mlore and other parts of Ktaka. Especially ' peace lovers', they have solid support from the same on this side of the border. Once they have their wings in place, they show their true colors, as they are caterogized as 'innocent minorities'. This is a living example & just the begining. Do you think any Kanndiga would dare to do such thing in Kerala??? No way maan! . I hope this Govt is replaced soon.

By not following the tradition of bowing to the magistrate and then staring at him, is a classic intimidation technique. He was conveying the message that "I am powerful and you cannot do anything to me" Hence his disbelief when he was not granted bail. He should not have been allowed to shake hands with his followers. Courts should have separate entrances for prisoners where there are holding cells.
