Mangaluru, Mar 8: The department of Post Graduate Studies and Research in Biotechnology, St Aloysius College, organised a day-long national level inter-collegiate fest under the title Chimera 2K18, here on Wednesday, March 8.

The chief guest of the programme Balachandran Bhat, senior manager, United Breweries, inaugurated the national fest. Addressing the gathering, he emphasized on the importance of education and attaining greater heights through it. The guest of honor Dr Harish Poojary, Sequent Scientific, spoke on various scope of advancement in the field of Biotechnology.

Various competitions were organized such as Pressure Cooker (Stress Interview), Take a plunge (Ice Breaker), Zografiki (Painting). Overall Champions were AIMIT (St Aloysius Institute of Management & Information Technology) Beeri and SDM College was announced as runners-up.

Principal of the college Fr Dr Praveen Martis presided over the inaugural ceremony. Vice- principal of LCRI Dr Richard Gonzalves and Pradeep Sequeira presided over the valedictory ceremony. Staff and students from various other colleges were present during the occasion.
