Mangaluru, Mar 14: Harikrishna Aithal, employed in New Mangalore Port Trust (NMPT) at Panambur, passed away in a hospital here on Tuesday March 13. Aithal had suffered serious injuries after having been hit by a tempo when crossing the road near Chitrapur gate in Bykampady recently.
Aithal, who had become unconscious in the accident, was admitted to the hospital. He was due to retire from service in another two month's time.
Aithal had functioned as president of Bykampady Nisarga Mitraru and was involved in social service initiatives. He is survived by wife and a daughter.
