Mangaluru: Awareness on various topics for youth, booklet release to be held on Mar 17

Mangaluru, Mar 15: Flagging off of awareness programme on various subjects for youth, specially for students, and the release of the booklet '20 Minutes for a Changed Life' will be held at 11 am on March 17 at Eric Mathias auditorium of St Aloysius College premises.

Addressing a press meet here on Tuesday March 13, Rtn K S Chako, former president of Rotary club Mangaluru (south) said, "A programme to conduct continuous awareness in schools and colleges on topics like 'Effects of Drug Abuse in Students', Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act (POCSO Act) and children’s rights, need to follow traffic rules and the impact of social networking sites on students will be launched. A booklet titled '20 Minutes for a Changed Life', which is prepared on these topics will be released on the occasion."

The programme is organised under the joint auspices of Rotary Club Mangaluru (south), Vikas EDU Solutions, Dakshina Kannada zilla panchayat and St Aloysius College. Director of Fr Muller charitable institutions Fr Richard Aloysius Coelho will be the chief guest of the programme.

Principal of St Aloysius Degree College (Autonomous) Fr Dr Praveen Martis , chief executive officer of Dakshina Kannada zilla panchayat Dr M R Ravi, assistant commissioner of police, Mangaluru city sub-division Uday M Nayak, Rotary district governor Suresh Chengappa, Vijaya Karnataka Kannada daily Mangaluru local editor U K Kumaranath, director of Mangaluru Vikas Edu Solutions Dr Ananth Prabhu G will participate in the event.

Dean of Canara College Rtn prof Gopala Krishna Shetty, president of Rotary Club Mangaluru (south), Rtn K Yuvaraj Acharya, president-elect 2018-19, Rotary Club Mangaluru (south) Rtn Suryakanth Naik and others were present in the press meet.
