Mangaluru, Mar 17: The customs officials with the help of Jet Airways security staff seized 4 gold bars hidden inside the toilet of aircraft 9W 531 arriving from Dubai here on March 17.
The aircraft was proceeding to Mumbai after stopover at the airport here. Each of these bars were of 1 kilogram weight each.
The passenger is yet to be identified.
In another case, a passenger who arrived in the same aircraft was found to have 2 gold biscuits hidden in his rectum, weighing about 230 grams valued at about Rs 7 lacs.
This is said to be the biggest ever seizure at this airport on a single day.
Customs officials were not available for comments.
