Gunfight breaks out in J&K


Srinagar, Mar 20 (IANS): A gunfight broke out on Tuesday between security forces and militants hiding in a forested area of Jammu and Kashmir's Kupwara district, police said.

Police said militants hiding in the Halmatpora area of Kupwara fired upon a security force party of the army's Rashtriya Rifles and the state police's Special Operations Group.

"A gunfight has now started in the area. Additional security forces have been rushed to the area," a police officer said.
