Mumbai: Surekha Hemanth bags silver medal at 38th national master's athletic championship

Mumbai, Apr 16: Karnataka Master's Athletic Association in association with Dakshina Kannada Master's Athletic Association will conduct a four day long 38th national master's athletic championship 2018.

Mumbai University Kannada department student Surekha Hemanth Devadiga who participated in the ongoing competitions held at Mangala sports grounds here from April 12, bagged a silver medal as second prize in high jump.



Surekha Devadiga represented Maharashtra and won a bronze medal in 100 meters relay and 400 meters relay.

Surekha is the daughter of Dakshina Kannada district Mangaluru, Derebail Konchady residents Muchuru Sunder Devadiga and Sindhu S Devadiga. Currently Surekha resides at Worli, Dadar west. She is pursuing her doctorate at Mumbai University under guidance from head of Kannada department Dr G N Upadhya. She serves as assistant secretary of women's wing of Devadiga sangha, Mumbai and is a talented sportswoman.
