Sullia: Man loses balance, drowns in rivulet

Sullia, Apr 21: A man cutting down a bamboo grove lost his balance, fell down into a ten feet-deep rivulet and drowned. The incident happened at Kandadka here on the night of Thursday April 19.

The deceased was Shaktivelu (45), resident of CRC Colomy, Kandadka. He had gone up the bamboo grove to collect thorny branches for erecting a fence around his compound. As he lost his balance momentarily, the tragedy happened.

The family was unaware of the incident for a long time. On finding that Shaktivelu, who had left home at 4.30 pm, had not returned for several hours, his family members began the search for him. His body was found beside the Kandadka rivulet on Thursday night.

A case about the incident was filed at Sullia police station.
