Bantwal, Apr 21: “If BJP wins in Bantwal, one of the eight constituencies in the district, it is as good as winning in Karnataka,” said MP Nalin Kumar Kateel.

Speaking in a meeting of party activists as a prelude to submission of nomination of Bantwal candidate Rajesh Naik Ulipadiguthu held in Kalamandira, Bantwal on Friday, April 20, he said if Rajesh Naik Ulipadiguthu enters Vidhan Sabha, Ramanath Rai may have to sit at home.

“You have ignited communal disharmony and created a rift between Hindus and Muslims. Murders of Hindu activists have taken place during your term. There were assaults against police in the jail and you have failed completely in administration.

“There was no development under Ramanath Rai. We developed hospital, polytechnic, fire brigade, degree college, irrigation, court building and bus stand. Ramanath Rai has failed completely as a minister and MLA. BJP will win a resounding victory this time. I am prepared for a discussion of funds provided to Bantwal by UPA government during its ten year’s rule at the centre and NDA government led by Modi in the last four years. Narendra Modi led government has given Rs 4,500 crore for the development of the district,” he said.

Stop dreaming – Harikrishna Bantwal

BJP district spokesperson Harikrishna Bantwal asked to give up dreaming that Billava community will come to you if you go to the house of Janardhan Poojary and hold his legs. “Janardhan Poojary was not remembered during Congress conference though important leaders of Congress including chief minister Siddaramaiah were going round his house. He is remembered now during submission of nominations,” he said wryly.

I will follow King’s ethics – Rajesh Naik

Candidate Rajesh Naik said that people in Bantwal desire change. “My win is certain with the love and trust of activists. BJP should come to power in the state. I will follow King’s ethics if I win and set right the injustice to party workers.”

Vidhana Parishad opposition party chief whip Captain Ganesh Karnik said that Siddaramaiah has conducted the administration of false pride and high handedness. “He snatched the meals of Punacha school and the murders of Hindu men is an example for it. The agricultural service of Bantwal candidate Rajesh Naik is a model for the state he said while requesting to elect him saying that he is the inspiration for youth.”

“Ramanath Rai might have donated money received from the pockets of others in the last thirty years. But Rajesh Naik has used the money of his sweat for donations. Rajesh Naik used his personal money for the welfare of people,” said Nalin Kumar Kateel.

Former minister Kota Srinivas Poojary, election convener Monappa Bhandary, leaders Padmanabha Kothary, G Ananda, Jithendra Kothary, Kamalaksha Poojary, Sulochana Bhat, Suguna Kini, Tungappa Bangera, Kerala BJP leader K Surendran and Brijesh Chouta were present.

Monappa Devasya thanked. Ramdas Bantwal compered the programme. Block president Devadas Shetty welcomed. Earlier Rajesh Naik arrived by walk from Polali to B C Road accompanied by a large number of supporters.
