Jeddah: Centre Systems BBCL Season II day/night softball tourney launched

Jeddah, Apr 23: The Centre Systems BBCL Season II Middle East Asia Cup - 2018 day/night softball tournament was recently launched at Crown Town Hotel, here.

The tournament is played under the umbrella of United Cricket Forum and sponsored by Centre Systems, powered by Careem & Indomie, supported by BTECH, SAB, Zamzam Restaurant, Gourmet Sweets, AAA Builders, Paradise Restaurant, Pepsi, PPL and media partner IJFF.



The initial league stage will be followed by the playoffs and grand finale. The tournament will last four weeks and all the matches will be played day/night at BMT Grounds, Opposite Al Waha Hotel, Bani Malik, Jeddah, KSA.

All the matches will be streamed live on Facebook on Big Bang Corporate League page with live updates on all social networking sites and print media.

Officials from United Sports Forum, sponsors, media, along with captains and managers of the ten participating teams attended the function. The ten teams were pooled in the following two groups.

Group A: Saudi Gladiators, Careem KSA, Young Star Pakistan, Lothers Jeddah, Al Max Sri Lanka

Group B: Royal Challengers India, Islamabad Warriors, Indomie Dragons Saudi Arabia, Centre Systems Dubai, IDB Saudi Arabia.

Ayazuddin Irfan welcomed the title sponsors Syed Salahuddin (Centre Systems) and co-sponsors Usman Ghani (manager) and Mohammed Jameel (Private Limo Supply manager) Careem- KSA and Ali Irshad (owner Zamzam Restaurant and Gourmet Sweets). Other prominent personalities from media Sameera Aziz (film producer/director), Musarrath Khaleel (editor Saudi Gazette), Fouzia Khan (editor, Al Bilad English Daily) were also present. Among other guests who graced the occasion were Hana (Radial AlimMim FM), Noushin Wasim (consultant entertainment general authority, KSA) and executive committee members from WPCA.

The ceremony commenced with recitation of verses from the holy Qur’an by Naseem. MuzammilRiyaz briefed everyone about Center Systems BBCL Season 2 Middle East Asia Cup and also gave a presentation on United Cricket Forum and all the tournaments the forum has organized so far in Jeddah. The United Sports forum committee comprises of members Jaweed Ahmed, Sami Khan, Ahmad Abdul Rahman, Muzammil Riyaz, Rafiullah, Anwar Khan, Syed Shariefuddin, Ayazuddin Irfan, Mujtaba Quraishi, Kamran, Samar, Ayaz Hussaini, Irfan Dayyani, Mohammed Affan and Akram.

Usman Ghani (manager – Careem KSA) in his speech congratulated all the participating teams and applauded the USF committee for their efforts in organizing this tournament and wished all the best for the success of Centre Systems BBCL Season 2 Middle East Asia Cup.

Muzammil Riyaz on behalf of Centre Systems appreciated the efforts of JSCL organizing committee and extended full support in the upcoming events of United Cricket Forum.

The USF committee urged the teams to abide by the rules and regulations for smooth running of the tournament.

The USF committee is providing colored T-shirts, trousers and caps to all the ten teams, umpires, scorers and volunteers.

Usman Ghani, Mohammed Jameel, Sameera Aziz, Fouzia Khan, Hana, Noushin Wasim along with others unveiled the winner and runner-up trophies and wished luck to all the teams.
