Goa DGP orders probe into officer assaulting dead person's kin

Panaji, Apr 24 (IANS): Goa Director General of Police Muktesh Chander on Tuesday ordered a probe into a video clip, which shows a police sub inspector (PSI) reportedly assaulting and verbally abusing a kin of a deceased person, with the corpse in the background.

The clip, which went viral on social media, shows PSI Sudin Redkar kicking and verbally abusing the person.

Chander told the media that he had seen the video clip and had asked the South Goa Superintendent of Police to probe the incident, while also transferring the official from Sanguem police station to the Goa Reserve Police camp.

"This is very bad. That is not the way man in uniform should behave. I have also asked SP to enquire and submit report immediately," Chander added.

Very good, I also saw the clips and reacted to the policeman actions and abuse to the kin. Police man has to be terminated, so others will learn to respect law and order.
