Daijiworld Media Network – Kasargod (SB)

Kasargod, May 21: In a shocking incident, a 9-year-old boy was found dead under mysterious circumstance in a shed used for storing firewood near Bakery Junction at Sunkadakatte, Vorkady here on Sunday, May 20.

The boy, Sawanth Kumar, a resident of Sunkadakatte, Vorkady, and a class 4 student of St Joseph School, Sunkadakatte, reportedly went missing in the afternoon on Sunday. It is said that he had been to a shop. His body was found in the evening in a shed used for storing firewood near Bakery Junction.

Manjeshwar police in their preliminary investigation concluded that the boy was playing with firewood which hit his private parts leading to his death. But the boy’s parents have alleged that he was sodomized before being murdered. It is gathered that the injury marks on the body, especially the neck, indicated murder.

After protests by the relatives of the deceased, the body was shifted to Pariyaram Medical College, Kannur for further investigation into the cause of death.

Police said that the post-mortem report would confirm whether there was a sexual assault. Locals in and around the area are being questioned by the police.

Let there be a good enquiry into the incident. If a sexual assault has happened the guilty people must be punished. These days people are having many sexual perversions.
