Rs 15 crore for new botanical garden project in Sanguem


Panaji, May 21 (TNN): An amount of Rs15 crore has been allotted for the botanical garden project in Sanguem.

The government will constitute a technical committee to guide the the project work which will be taken up by the Goa forest development corporation. The project includes musical fountains at the premises.

The team for the botanical garden cum eco-recreational park at Salaulim, Sanguem dam site, consists of the chairman and the managing director of Goa forest development corporation, principal chief conservator of forests, chief engineer of water resources department, the principal chief engineer of PWD and the director of tourism.

The committee is tasked with evaluating financial bids and suggesting recommendations, conducting random field checks to ensure completion of works, as well as reviewing progress.
