BJP leaders to meet Goa Archbishop

Panaji, Jun 8 (NIE): The BJP has announced that it is seeking a formal appointment with the Goa Archbishop Fr Filipe Neri Ferrao as part of its ‘Sampark se Samarthan’ outreach programme, according to BJP functionaries.

In the last two months, BJP MLAs have been given a list of 30 “influencers” they have to meet with the four-year performance report of the party.

While the MLAs have been assigned their respective constituency, senior leaders will visit religious heads in the state. The BJP will be meeting the Goa Archbishop for the first time after the release of the pastoral letter in which Ferrao asked the community to actively participate in politics, warning that the Indian Constitution is in danger.

State BJP spokesperson Premanand Mahambre confirmed the meeting, adding that they also met Swami Brahmanand of the influential Kundaim Tapobhumi Ashram in South Goa on Thursday as part of the outreach.

Goa Archbishop should refuse to meet them as they were accusing him of getting money from Vatican to overthrow their government and now the shamelees fellows want to meet him. They are hanging on using Parikars name but they know that he won't recover from cancer of Pancreas. It is high time there was a re-elction in Goa without manipulated EVM;s.

Jitters again ? During earlier elections several Goans had not participated in voting because according to them it made no difference. Well, it did, because BJP forcefully established its government. After the Bishop's episode, I am sure Goanese will not be lazy in 2019 and the results will not be as it were for the state elections.

The Bishop has indeed smitten some cords in people and the difference will definitely show.

Well, we don't get SMS to inform us that our vote has reached a specific candidate - do we ? Then, we the voters put together, could have counted a given number which should have appeared in the candidate's vote counts.

Out ballot system is still undergoing trial.
