Mumbai: Havyaka Welfare Trust invites applications for poetry competition

Mumbai, Jun 13: Havyaka Welfare Trust here, will conduct a country level poetry competition in memory of poet late V G Bhat. Participants can create a poem on any subject. There is no admission fee.

First prize will be Rs 10,000, second prize Rs 5,000 and third prize Rs 3,000. There will also be a consolation prize of Rs 1,000.

The poems should be created solely by the participants and no translations or imitations will be accepted. Poems should be within thirty lines and handwritten or printed clearly on one side of the paper.

They can be mailed to: havyakamumbai@hotmail.com or sent by post to Havyaka Welfare Trust, B-207, Valmiki Apartments, Near Pharmacy College, Sundar Nagar, Kalina, Vidyanagari, Mumbai 400098.

The name of the poet, address, mobile number and email ids should be written on a separate paper and sent. The competition poems sent should not be published anywhere else till the results are out. The decision of the judges is final. The last date for receiving poems is July 30.

Results of the competition will be published in 'Havyaka Sandesha', monthly magazine of Havyaka Welfare Trust and local daily newspapers.
