Mumbai: Shani Mahatma Seva Samiti distributes free books to school children

Mumbai, Jun 14: Shani Mahatma Seva Samiti, Khar on Sunday June 10 held its annual book distribution programme for school children at Sai Dham building, Jawaharnagar, Saibaba Road here.

Free books were distributed to 350 Tulu Kannadiga school children studying in primary, high school and degree colleges. The books were distributed across religions by CA Prakash Shetty in memory of his late mother Kamala Seena Shetty. Nisha Prakash Shetty couple handed over the books and wished the children well.



“Education is the milestone to reach the peak of achievement. Outstanding achievement is possible only by value based education. Education for children is not the only thing rather they should inculcate love for the environment and a habit of molding their lives with moral principles. Education has become a tool for all round success. It takes a major part for a person to be human,” opined Prakash Shetty.

The programme was chaired by temple committee president Shanker K Suvarna. Prajna Deepak Bhootkar and Deepak Bhootkar were present. Committee executive president R D Kotian, priest Nagesh Suvarna and women's committee president Keshari B Ameen lit the lamp and set the programme in motion.

Office bearers Jayaram Shetty, Ramesh Poojary, Vinod Hejmady, Kamalaksha Suvarna, Janardhan Salian, Ravi Kotian and other youth and women's wing activists were present.

In the meeting held later, CA Prakash Shetty was unanimously elected trustee in the place of former trustee late Vasu P Shetty. Committee honorary chief secretary Yogesh K Hejmady welcomed everyone, compered the programme and thanked the gathering.
