Mangaluru: Johnlyn Toy Exchange distributes hampers to 50 orphanage children

Media Release

Mangaluru, Jun 17: Over 50 children residing in Bala Yesu Nilaya orphanage for girls at Mary Hill were presented toy hampers comprising dolls, playthings and children’s books by Johnlyn Toy Exchange on June 17.

Warden of the institution, Sr Aquinita facilitated the toy distribution function, which included a shorter version of the BondeL laughter Club sessions anchored by John Monteiro, as well as dance and song by the children themselves, and presentation of the toys to the balikas by a group of elders present.

Sr Aquinita welcomed the Johnlyn Toy Exchange team and thanked it on behalf of her wards.

Speaking on the occasion, Mohan Monteiro, a Johnlyn Toy Exchange volunteer, said that this was its 4th outreach programme since its launch in January 2018, and that it would strive to hold these distribution events each month going forward, as there is a vast constituency of children identified but still to be covered. He added that Johnlyn Toy Exchange is in it for the long haul, and urged donors to deliver their generous contributions of used toys in good condition at Johnlyn Cottage, Vijaya Bank Lane, Bondel Junction, Mangalore - 575008 (contact number: 9886276608).
