Mangaluru: Carmel School observes International Yoga Day

Media Release

Mangaluru, Jun 21: Carmel School observed International Yoga Day on Thursday, June 21.

The celebration was initiated with a prayer executed in a creative way highlighting the theme ‘Yoga for peace’.

Addressing the gathering, Kalavathy Padmanabha, the chief guest for the event said that yoga is a ‘distinctive way’ to approach an individual's health and well-being. A yoga expert herself, she explicated the significance of yoga for students to synchronize the body, mind and soul and demonstrated the artistic yoga.

The yogic dance by the students of class VII B was an added enthrallment. The benefits of yoga were most beautifully exemplified in a skit.

The principal motivated the students to make yoga an important part of their daily routine to stay fit and healthy.

Students then participated in meditation and a guided yoga activity based on 'Common Yoga Protocol' conducted with the help of Pavithra.
