Kathmandu, Jun 22 (IANS): A seven-member team, including four players from Nepal, are set to participate in 2018 Ziyuan International Rafting Classic Sports Culture Week to be held in China from June 26.

Amid a special ceremony organized here on Friday, the team was bidden farewell by the officials of Nepal Association of Rafting Agencies (NARA) and National Sports Council among others, reports Xinhua news agency.

The team will leave for China on June 25 for the seven-day event.

Meanwhile, the officials will attend the International Rafting City Development Forum, where they will also present a paper on Nepal's adventure tourism.

Shiva Adhikari, General Secretary at NARA, told that "through this festival, Nepal can be promoted as the best destination for adventurous water tourism."

Besides rafting, the Himalayan country also offers water activities like cannoning, kayaking, and stand-up paddle among others.
