Mangaluru: Agrigold association threatens to hold massive protests if demands not met

Mangaluru July 14: Agrigold Customers and Agents Welfare Association (R) on Saturday, July 14 demanded the repayment of the money of customers and agents by taking possession and auctioning the land belonging to Agrigold company.

Addressing media here national president of Agrigold Customers and Agents Welfare Association Andalu Ramesh Babu said, "Agrigold company have cheated 9 lac customers and 2 lac agents of nearly Rs 2000 crore. The government should act on it and take possession of their land and repay the money back to customers and agents.

“We have also met the then law minister TB Jayachandra and home minister Ramalinga Reddy regarding this issue. The then CM Siddaramaiah had passed the orders of handing over the case to CID by appointing special officer Rajendra Prasad and the entire process was mentioned in the Karnataka gazette notifications to bring control on acquiring benami land.

“By this fraud, nearly 70 customers and agents have lost their lives. We demand the government to give compensation of Rs 5 lac to the kin of the deceased. The cars of the directors which were taken by are taken back through court and are being used illegally. As per law, these cars need to be taken over and should be disposed off.

"If our demands are not met, we will conduct massive protest demanding the same. In the coming days, we will organise Bengaluru Chalo. If our demands are not met even after the protests, then we will not hesitate in gheraoing Vidhana Soudha," warned Andalu Ramesh Babu

District president Narayan Shetty, women wing president Parvathy Shetty and others were present.
