Case filed against Navjot Sidhu for hugging Pakistan's army chief

New Delhi, Aug 20(IANS): A case was filed against cricketer-turned-politician Navjot Singh Sidhu in a Bihar court on Monday for insulting the Indian Army by hugging Pakistan's Army Chief, Qamar Javed Bajwa, at the swearing-in of Imran Khan as Pakistan's Prime Minister.

Lawyer Sudhur Ojha filed the case in Muzaffarpur's Chief Judicial Magistrate court.

Ojha said he has filed the case under Indian Penal Case sections involving sedition. In his complaint, he said Mr Sidhu's gesture hurt the people of the country.

"The court has admitted the case and will hear it next week," he said.

Sidhu, a minister in Congress-led government in Punjab, is under attack for hugging the Pakistan Army Chief, by the BJP and Akali Dal leaders.

    Ramdev's confidant, Ved Prakash Vaid went and met mastermind terrorist Hafeez Saeed! No criticism?
    If hugging was wrong, in the first place PM Modi shouldn't have hugged Nawaj Sharif!
    Much before Navjot Sidhu hugging Pakistan's army chief, PM Modi hugged Nawaj Sharif!
    Contrary Navjot Sidhu can say he was inspired by PM Modi.
    Now BJP'ans accusing Sidhu is height of their double standard! Blindness to the wrong of their leader!
    They have no right to criticize Navjot Sidhu!

    Perhaps a constitutional amendment is required : ' All Indian males with the exception of PM are prohibited to hug males of foreign nationalities. Among Indian nationals only the richest Indian is considered worthy of hugging PM'
