Kundapur: Farmer Sathish Hegde presented Sabladi K Sheenappa Shetty award

Kundapur, Sep 21: “K Sheenappa Shetty who was an influential politician and farmer who worked as a member of Dakshina Kannada district parishat agriculture justice. He worked hard as taluk board member. Due to his dedication he stuck to one party. Presenting an award in the name of this excellent politician and farmer is praiseworthy,” said Vidhana Parishat member, K Pratapchandra Shetty who presided over the programme of distribution of scholarships, monetary help for medical treatment and presentation of agriculture award.

The programme was held by Sabladi K Sheenappa Shetty Memorial Charitable Trust at Bantara Yane Nadavara complex on September 20.



Basrur Mahalingeshwara temple managing trustee, B Appanna Hegde said that Sheenappa Shetty had worked with an emphasis on education and farming. “He had grown high grade sugarcane and supplied it to Brahmavar sugar factory. Presenting an award to a special farmer achiever in his name every year is an excellent development.”

Basrur Sharada College principal Radhakrishna Shetty conveyed his best wishes. Progressive farmer Sathish Hegde Rattadi was presented K Sheenappa Shetty agriculture award. Students of medicine, engineering and post graduate courses were handed over scholarships and patients suffering from chronic illnesses were presented monetary help. Homage was paid to the portrait of Sabladi K Sheenappa Shetty with flowers.

Trust member Narayana Shetty Sabladi proposed the vote of thanks. Trust president N Ananda Shetty Sabladi welcomed the gathering. Convener N Manjayya Shetty Sabladi delivered the introductory address. Journalist Subrahmanya Padukone compered the programme.
