JCI Mangaluru uniquely celebrates ‘Jaycee Week’

Mangaluru, Sep 21: JCI Mangalore - Lalbagh chapter uniquely recently celebrated ‘Jaycee Week’ by organising various activities on health, education, empowerment of women, use of water, environment and the grand finale of Mrs Mangalore 2018 on a beautiful stage. The seven days activities revolved round the week under the concept, 'SAAT SUR', seven days sustainable symphony.

Health awareness rally proceeded from Lalbagh toward Ballalbagh on eye and organ donation at Lalbagh. Eye donation poster, short awareness training programme on eye, organ donation and health, free health check up camp were the main activities on health.

'Sursangam' - antakshari contest was conducted on the same day at Sahyadri College auditorium, Adyar.



The day long training programme under the concept of “Future” was held at St. Thomas College, Belthangady and Government First Grade College, Kavoor, Mangaluru. Leadership, self awareness and self motivation, effective presentation skills, managing stress, strategies and techniques on facing interviews, creativity and time management were the topics covered.

Launch of 'Suraksha Project' as well as talk on 'Gender Equality' were held at Lalbagh Towers, here.

'Sujal' project to economise water and to mark the importance of using water carefully was staged through the movement 'Make Water Safe'.

Pay for a better future promoted a social good through 'Idol making' event as well as conducting street play on narcotics and its effects.

Go Green Drive, balcony gardening awareness and sapling distribution activities were organized to promote environmental health.

Krishnappa Gowda along with his wife were felicitated for their great achievement in terrace gardening followed by an awareness talk on Go Green and also practically explained how to grow saplings by using eco friendly manner. Saplings were distributed to the participants including all the JCI members.

The Grand Finale remains as history in the Jaycee Week of JC Mangalore-Lalbagh-2018 through the event 'Mrs Mangalore 2018'. JC Sadanada Navada past EVP, JCI India inaugurated the event. JCI Aravinda Rao Kedige, past ZP, JCI Deerandra Jain, zone trainer zone XV were the guests of honour. JCI Sen Soujanya Hedge, LOM president, JC Sen. Peter Anthony Pinto, charter president, JC Narasimha Bhat, PPP and JC Deanath Dsa, secretary, JCI Mangalore-Lalbagh were present. JC Sourab was the project director of the event.

Crowning Glory was done by PPP Rakesh Kunjoor, zone president, and zone XV and JC Soumya Kunjoor.

Business awards were honoured to Ashwath Hedge who has made a name and fame in the field of business, entrepreneurship activity and leadership skills. Business award on health was awarded to Dr Priyadarshini for the service mindedness and promotion of comprehensive healthcare services and women empowerment. Business award on fashion and art was awarded to Venkat Charan Shetty in the field of modelling agency and fashion industry.

Prizes were distributed to the winners of antakshari and idol making competition held during Jaycee Week.

A record breaking performance of 45 children from Excellent Dance group rocked the stage, Boys age group sang a few romantic numbers to the audience. There was a wonderful performance by velocity dance group.

Mrs Mangalore 2018 Grand Finale top 20 finalists exhibited their performance with the introduction round, ramp walk, question answer round etc. The awards were given to Mrs Popular, Best Smile, Best ramp walk, Best fitness etc. Sudeeksha Kiran Suvarna was crowned as the winner of Mrs Mangalore 2018 while Hera Pinto was crowned as the first runner up and Angelita Lewis as the second runner up of Mrs Mangalore 2018.
