Mangaluru: World Women’s Day celebrated by various organizations at Suratkal

Mangaluru, Mar 12: Jayceerate section of JCI Suratkal, Sharada Mathr Mandali, Suratkal and Yuvavahini Suratkal jointly celebrated World Women’s Day.

Six eminent achievers of society were felicitated on the occasion. Meenakshi Devdas nad Shakuntala Prasad were conferred with the award ‘Jaycee Samaja Ratna’ in recognition of their social service, Jayanti Devadiga was conferred with the award ‘Jaycee Vidya Ratna’ in recognition of her achievement in educational and social service field, Shweta Santhosh was conferred with the award ‘Jaycee Sadhana Ratna’ in recognition of her achievement in the field of art and business, Vidya Shetty was conferred with the award ‘Jaycee Kisan Ratna’ for her achievement in pro-development and organic farming and Babita Shetty was conferred with the award ‘Jaycee Kreeda Ratna’ for her achievement in the field of sports.


Gunavati Ramesh, president of Sharada Mathr Mandali and Yuvavahini, Suratkal unit, inaugurated the programme by lighting the lamp.

Sowmya Rakesh, director of progress and development of JCI Zone 15, congratulated the award winners and said that women can become confident when they utilize the opportunities that are given to them in the society.

Rajeshwari D Shetty ushered the guests on the dais. Jayceerate president Anita S Shetty presided over the function. Tara Dhanraj, secretary of Sharada Mathr Mandali rendered the vote of thanks.
