Ballary, Jun 6: Anupama Shenoy, who maintained a low profile after resigning for her post as DySP, took recourse to Facebook. She expressed her opinion on Sunday in her Facebook account by changing her wallpaper and profile picture. It has created a movement in the social network with hundreds of people reacting together with thousands of likes.
Chief Minister Siddaramaih however has said that he neither knows why Anupama Shenoy resigned nor about her Facebook writings.
Anupama Shenoy's profile at about 10 am had the message “If you ever let your head down, it should be just to admire your shoes”. When it caused hot discussions, she changed her profile to show “When injustice becomes Law, Rebellion becomes duty.” She later changed it again in the evening as “If voting changed anything, they would make it illegal.”
She was not seen publicly after submitting her resignation but continued to show her viewpoints through social media. People have expressed their anguish saying that there is no life for sincere government officers.
Anupama has said that she had to resign as inevitable situation was created. “Dalit community members had complained that a bar owner is constructing a building on the way to Ambedkar Bhavan in Kudligi town obstructing free movement. I had called three people to the police station and questioned them. I have not assaulted them, as alleged. I faced friction as I tried to stop strong liquor lobby supported by influential people. I will be writing about it to Bellary SP R Chetan,” she said.
