Udupi, Jun 6: Narasimha Murthy took charge of Udupi Urban Development Authority (UUDA) as chairman on Monday, June 6 at Town Planning Authority office here.
After receiving the honour, Murthy said, “I will put my best efforts towards making corruption- free administration. I will provide sincere service to public. I will discuss with public as well as concerned officials with regarding to solving problems. I will take all information of files related to land issues and solve them as soon as possible.”
Speaking on the occasion, MLA Pramod Madhwaraj said, “We are planning to have a help desk at town planning office to deal with issuing license for construction of houses. The help desk will benefit poor and middle class families who have less than 10 cents of land. I will instruct taluk and CMC officials to work together in the matter of granting permission for houses.”
“We have Rs 20 crore fund in the town planning department. The town planning authority has become paperless office and within 15 days licenses should be given for applicants. A plan of construction of layout is yet to be completed.” he added.
Speaking about Narasimha Murthy, MLA said, “He is a simple yet honest personality. Before becoming the district secretary for Congress party, he used to drive auto rickshaw for his livelihood. Congress party always promotes active members and offers good opportunity to them.”
Narasimha Murthy has worked as the chief secretary of district Congress for the last 15 years. He was the vice-president of block Congress, Kunjibettu. He founder auto-rickshaw drivers’ and owners union of Udupi and Udupi Yuva Brahman parishath.
The other members of UUDA committee are Girish Kumar, Praveen Shetty, Sampath Kumar and Violet D’Souza.
