Nethravati agitators to hold black flag protest against Moily, DVS on Jun 10

Mangaluru, June 7:"Nethravati Rakshana Samyukta Samithi has decided to hold black flag protest against union minister D V Sadananda Gowda and former union minister Veerappa Moily for their stance on ongoing Yethinahole project, on June 10 near town hall as both will be arriving the city to attend a private programme," said Vijaya Kumar Shetty, president of Nethravati Rakshana Samyukta Samithi.

Shetty was addressing the press meet at Hotel Janatha Deluxe here on June 7.

 

"Both politicians are key persons in this project. Our stir is not against the programme organizers. We have good respect for the organizers but it is against the ongoing Yethinahole project. Veerappa Moily has given statement that this Yethinahole project will be completed by 2018. This is the indirect challenge to the people of Dakshina Kannada. He is eyeing for 2018 elections and hence he is giving these types of statements. There are several drinking water projects which are still incomplete for which crores of rupees have been spent," he added.

"Environmentalist Professor Nagendran has refused to sign the report of National Green Tribunal as the project is against the nature. This is the project to make money for officials and political representatives. We are ready to face any consequences for opposing this project." Shetty said.

Satyajit Surathkal, convener of Nethravati Rakshana Samyukta Samithi, said “Though the district administration has assured to make arrangements to meet the chief minister (CM) on the Yethinahole project, till date it has not come with any response. This shows the attitude towards the people of Dakshina Kannada. The Samithi will continue its agitations. Samithi has decided to meet religious heads in coming days. In next 2 days Samithi will meet Pejawar Shree. Then we will also be meeting Dr D Veerendra Heggade, Bishop Aloysius Paul D'Souza and Ullal Khazi and taking them into confidence. "

Harikrishna Bantwal quoted MLA Anjanappa from Chikkaballapur who had said that Veerappa Moily should be driven out from Chikkaballapur as the people Dakshina Kannada did to him.

M G Hegde said “Karnataka Niravari Nigama is a funding agency to political parties. Any party, which comes to power, implements major water projects. I challenge Veerappa Moily and DV Sadananda Gowda to contest elections in Dakshina Kannada."

On this occasion former deputy mayor Purushotham Chitrapura, Ananda Shetty Adyar, Yogish Shetty Jeppu and others were present.

    We the whole district are with you. Chase them away. but I am wondering, will it impact any of them , neither Moily or DVS. The protest team is sitting somewhere and events are at somewhere ... I think it's of no use. What I recommend... stop them on their way, either from airport to city or with in city. Make them get down from the car and garland them with chappals and put shit on their face. then sit in front of their vehicle protesting with black flags. they should be scared to step on this district next time. They should answer the queries and ensure they will stop this project if they want to come to this district next time. Let's ensure we get this done. sitting at one corner and protesting... those buggers will come, finish their event and fly back. they may make fun of also seeing a small group sitting protesting somewhere. Please.

    They should not only be greeted with black flags, they should also be garlanded with chappals. These two traitors do not deserve anything else. I suggest to collect one rupee each from all the residents of Dakshina Kannada and give this money collected to Moily and Gowda. At least this act could shake their conscience, that is if they have one. Or may be, we can go to Karkala and Sullia and do not allow them to come out of their houses. I am ashamed of both of them. I condemn both of them and their chelas.

    Hope nothing is wrong in giving water to parched areas,but when you dont have that 24TMC in yethinahole stream itself than what is the reason to spend 20000Crores to a unscientific Project,The Samithi & We (Dont know about You)people have to get actual picture what wilL be the effects & disaster which may occur in future due to the heavy construction in the western ghats.We the people never said that we wont give water to others .sitting & giving comment may be easy ,who supported us ,where is that CM Siddaramaiha who promised to the people of Dakshina Kannada ,stating that *We will not implement project till we discuss & get approval from all people of the District*.Than why in urgent laid the stone for Yethinahole Project with that Copy cat Moily, in Chikabalapura ,Its high time to Us,& For you please check all those reports & details thru websites,Internet & Newspaper just type Yethinahole you will realise the Hannadha(Money)Hole there ,Please understand the ground reality.i Request all my Daijiworld News Reader Friends Please lets support for the good Cause.Jai tulunad......*Lets Save our Land & River Netravathi before the Mother nature Strikes*

    These leaders simply holding press meets just to fool the innocent people. Majority people of DK are aware that there is no harm in diverting little water to other areas by the way yettinahole is a small stream if about 100 yettinahole streams water diverted then also there is no harm. I am staying near Nethravathi river last 45 years and I am well aware of the rise and fall in water levels during all season. I feel sad when fresh water wasted in to the sea during rainy season. I feel this project should have been done long back. Do this people aware of the problems faced by people of Kolar region. I request these people who oppose yettinahole let them first conserve water by doing water harvesting instead of fooling innocent people of Mangalore.

    Rightly said, all sitting together press conference people want the share and fooling public . Mr. Vijay kumar Shetty want to contest next assembly election . We saw all these type of drama people while implementing Nagarjuna power plant now all protested main people became crorepathis and poor people lost everything.

    While veerappan lived in forest, Veerappa moily lives in a bungalow. Both have done the same activities - looting. DVS and moily should be considered as outlaws and be barred from entering TuluNad. Instead of these BJP and Congress party, Tulu Nad party should be launched and people should support this party only.
