Sullia : ACB sleuths arrest Village Accountant while accepting bribe

Sullia, Jun 8: A Village Accountant (VA) has been arrested by Anti Corruption Bureau (ACB) officials while receiving bribe on Tuesday, June 7.

Sullia taluk Mandekolu grama resident Gopalakrishna T had submitted an application for recommendation for approval of Akrama Sakrama land of his mother to Mandekolu grama Village Accountant Mahesh S. Mahesh S had demanded Rs 57,000 bribe for the recommendation. A complaint was registered by ACB on the basis of grievance received from Gopalakrishna T.

The ACB sleuths under the leadership DSP Sudhir Heggade and investigating officer Dinakar Shetty conducted a raid when Mahesh S was receiving a bribe of Rs 45,000 and took the government officer into custody. A case as per anti corruption section 1988 has been registered against Mahesh and he has been produced in the court for further course of action.

ACB staff H C Hariprasad, Umesh, CPC Prashanth, Radhakrishna, driver APC Rakesh participated in the operation conducted under guidance from Mangaluru western range SP Chennabasavanna S S.

    Are they really serious? I doubt!

    Take the example of land registrar office at DC complex in Mangalore. Bribe money is openly deposited inside the table drawer of the registrar.
