Mangaluru: First round of SOP and POP 2016 held at Expert PU College

Mangaluru, Jun 10 : The first round of Student Orientation Programme (SOP) and Parent Orientation Programme (POP) was held today at Expert P.U. College Campus, Valachil. The programme was conducted for the benefit of I PUC students and their parents, in order to familiarize them with the ethos and work culture practised at Expert. Separate sessions were held for girls and boys in the forenoon and afternoon, respectively.

Prof. Narendra L. Nayak, Chairman of Expert Educational and Charitable Foundation presided over the programme. Ushaprabha N. Nayak, Secretary and Correspondent of Expert Educational & Charitable Foundation, Ankush N. Nayak, alumnus of Expert P.U. College; Ustad Rafique Khan, Trustee, Expert Educational and Charitable Foundation and Gopalakrishna Delampady, Yoga Faculty, Expert P.U. College were the Guests of Honour. Prof. Dr. N.K. Vijayan, Principal, N. Gurudutt, Vice-Principal, Vidyasharadha G.K. Student Welfare Officer (Girls) and Venkatrajesh. K Student Welfare Officer (Boys) were present on the dais.














The two sessions began with the rendition of the college anthem. They were formally inaugurated with the lighting of the ceremonial lamp. Prof. Narendra L. Nayak, Chairman; Ushaprabha N. Nayak, Secretary and Correspondent and other dignitaries lit the lamp along with a few I PUC students.

Ushaprabha N. Nayak, Secretary and Correspondent, took the new students into the fold by administering the oath and delivered the inaugural address. In her speech, Nayak explained the ills of the possessive nature of parents and illustrated the manner in which their frequent interference could ruin the lives of their children. She implored them to have faith in the proven teaching/learning methods practised at Expert and advised them to motivate their children to work hard. Using the analogy of elevator and ladder, she made it clear that Expert provides no shortcuts to success.

Prof. Dr. N.K. Vijayan, Principal briefed the gathering about the rules and regulations of Expert. He provided them exhaustive details with regard to daily routine, academic activities, coaching packages, services/facilities at offer, list of key functionaries and the procedure of communicating with them.

Prof. Narendra L. Nayak, Chairman, in his Presidential address, explained the rationale behind the academic rigour followed at Expert. He compared the the difficulty level of highschool syllabus with that of P.U. Science syllabus and justified the intense training schedule followed at Expert. He observed that Expert produces winners year after year by providing right orientation to the students, according to their calibre and asserted that no one understood the requirement of science students better than Expert.

Top-scorers and rank-holders in the P.U. Board exams as well as CET were felicitated along with their parents. Parents of Neha S.C. Vishnupooja T. and Vinayak S. Gadad who were honoured by Chairman Sir and Secretary Madam, thanked Expert for making an impact on the lives of their children. The students too expressed their gratitude and listed the advantages of studying at Expert.

Druthi V. Hegde, Chemistry Faculty and Sheryl Florence D’Souza, Chemistry Faculty welcomed the gathering and compered the sessions.

Vidyasharadha G.K. Student Welfare Officer (Girls) and Mr. Venkatrajesh K. Student Welfare Officer (Boys) proposed the formal Vote of Thanks.

A power-point presentation highlighting the salient features of Expert College and offering a sneak peek at the student life at Expert was also displayed on this occasion.
