Mangaluru, Jun 10: A high level delegation led by Dakshina Kannada (DK) district in-charge minister, B Ramanath Rai, met state chief minister, Siddaramaiah, on Wednesday June 8 and discussed various issues relating to the district including problems and development works.
It impressed upon the chief minister to implement Paschima Vahini project, as already announced, towards finding a lasting solution to problem of water scarcity for drinking and irrigation purposes in the district, find a suitable solution to rule 9/11 relating to transfer of land, and to release ten crore rupees needed to complete the remaining portion of government Lady Goschen Hospital in the city at the earliest.
The chief minister was also asked to send a high level delegation to DK district for giving impetus to various development works. He was also requested to give preference to eminent people from this district when making appointments to boards and corporations.
MLA, Ivan D'Souza, city corporation mayor, Harinath, zilla panchayat members, Chandrapratap Shetty, M S Muhammed, Padmashekhar Jain, Shahul Hamid, Verghese and others were members of this delegation.
