Bengaluru, Jun 11 (DHNS): When the Karnataka State police is ushering in technological advancement, its official website was hacked on Friday by unknown persons claiming to be Team Pak Cyber Attackers.
The official website www.ksp.gov.in was hacked and a post on the site stated, ‘Hacked by Faisal 1337 #Police Website Pwned! Shame on your security.’ A Pakistan flag was also put up on the website.
A senior police officer said, “It is suspected that the website was hacked on Thursday night or early Friday. It appears it was hacked by someone based in a different country. We have informed the authorities concerned and the Cyber crime department, who are trying to track down the IP address of the hacker.”
“As soon as we got to know about it, we brought down the page and fixed it and put it back with the original content by Friday noon. It appears the hackers are based in Pakistan but it cannot be confirmed until we track down the IP address,” said another police officer.
The officer said though no official complaint has been lodged, the matter is being investigated. Recently, ‘ethical’ hackers from Bangladesh hacked the website of National Law School of India University.
