Dec 29: DK reports 33 corona cases, Udupi adds 17 infections

Mangaluru/Udupi,Dec 29: Dakshina Kannada on Wednesday, December 29 reported 33 new coronavirus cases. The case positivity rate for the district stands at 0.46%.

As per the district health bulletin, a total of 24,31,674 samples have been tested so far, out of which 23,15,333 have turned out to be negative.

The total number of positive cases in the district has risen to 1,16,341 out of which 143 are currently active.

As many as 13 patients were discharged from hospitals on Wednesday, taking the total number of recoveries to 114498.

The death in the district on Wednesday is nil. The death toll in the district so far stands at 1,700.

The district administration has collected Rs 1,10,51,670 in fines for 91,574 mask violations.

Udupi

As per the district health bulletin, as many as 13,62,952 samples have been tested for the second wave of coronavirus.

As many as 17 new cases were reported on Wednesday, taking the total number of cases to 77,069 out of which 80 are currently active.

A total of 4 patients were discharged from hospitals on Wednesday, taking the total number of recoveries to 76,510 for the second wave.
