Bengaluru: Temples to be autonomous soon, assures Basavaraj Bommai

Daijiworld Media Network – Bengaluru (MS)

Bengaluru, Dec 30: The government is resorting to allow temples to function independently. This decision comes immediately after implementing the anti-religious conversion bill.

As per the long standing demand of Hindu community, the government is mulling to make the temples autonomous and release them from the clutches of government.

A statement in this regard was given by chief minister (CM) Basavaraj Bommai in the state BJP executive meeting that is being held at Hubballi. He said that a law to this effect will be brought before the presentation of the budget.

Bommai said, “It has come to our notice that development of temples is being affected by the regulation act on them. Many elders of Hindu community have questioned the control on temples by the government which is not there for prayer centres of other religions. Accordingly the government is mulling of making the temples autonomous.

The CM also said that the Anjanadri Hills will be developed at international level and PM Modi will inaugurate it.

2 different tracks and strokes: - QUOTE : "The ruling BJP in Karnataka is taking steps to bring accountability in the management of temples in the state. The government has decided to act tough against temple managements and initiate legal proceedings if they do not fall in line as far as bringing transparency is concerned" "After making an announcement in this regard, Minister of the Muzarai department Shashikala Jolle issued a circular giving a deadline to the powerful and influential temple authorities in the state" - Now what has to say by Minister of the Muzarai department Shashikala Jolle?????

Very good move.... Atleast temple authorities will now have the space to spread peace and harmony. Focus on real teachings, improve life of bakths and away from politicians advise. If this is not the real reason behind the move then bakths have to introspect what they follow

what bakwas. Temple contribute to state exchequer, just like tax and GST, SO, if you get LPG subsidies or your undie from govt, that has some portion of temple money. Now think.

This will further widen casteism within Hindusim. Separate temples for Brahmins, GSB, Mogaveers, Billavas, SC/ST etc. In long run, lower caste Hindus will not be allowed to enter temples of Upper caste Hindus as was the case earlier. Trustees can mint money and will lead to conflicts within. Any way decision is most appreciated.

Money Corrupts. Be it temple, church or mosque, same story. God has an unique way of testing trustees and devotees by luring them with incentives. Trustees usually fall in the trap, true devotees pass the test ! However, where law of the land is concerned, all are equal. The looting of Hindu Temples by Governments concerned over the past 70 years is s black blot on it's history. No Government claiming to be secular should do it. In fact I know a State run full on Temple Money... Yes Andhra Pradesh !

Good or bad, it will come to know after few years only. Before Government took over the temples, the Temple was collecting very less money, but nowadays more devotees and more income to Temple. If trustees keep clean records then well and good, but who will monitoring the funds???

Some people have started talking about corruption, disputes etc . Thing is, this is applicable for all institutions. It will be dealt by the provisions of the law, However, equal treatment for all religious institutions by law was required. Glad that CM Bommai has initiated the step.

This is a very good News for the Hindus. All along, Hindus were treated inferior in comparison with the other communities. The other communities had autonomy in managing thier religious institutions, The Hindus didnt have. Finally after 70 years, we are seeing equal treatment to all religions. Salute to our CM Bommai.

You badly need some education. Temples pay huge amount in 100s of crores to govt exchequer.. unlike tax burden like your ilk. The temple hundi money should ideally come back to Hindus, but no, it goes to HeJ yatra or the subsidies you get claiming mironity instead of earning your bread .

FOR THE FIRST TIME IN THE HISTORY OF INDEPENDENT INDIA WE HAVE A SPIRITUAL CM OF STATE INSTEAD OF A POLITICAL ONE. THIS MAN IS NOT CONCERNED ABOUT ECONOMY, UNEMPLOYMENT, HELPING THE HELPLESS & ERADICATING POVERTY. INSTEAD HE IS SO DREADFULLY INSECURE ABOUT HINDUTVA THAT HE HAS TALK ONLY ABOUT TEMPLES & IMAGINARY CONVERSIONS. THE INSECURE AND HELPLESSNESS SHOWS ON HIS FACE. SALUTES TO THE RELIGIOUS CM OF KARNATAKA STATE
