Bengaluru, Dec 31: The State Government is seriously concerned over the Centre identifying Karnataka as one of the 8 States in the country facing a spike in Omicron infection cases and will take strict measures to control the spread of the Covid variant in Karnataka, Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai asserted in Bengaluru on Friday.

The Chief Minister said key decisions like improving infrastructure facilities for the treatment of omicron cases and arranging sufficient stocks of vital drugs, intensive care unit beds etc. are being taken.

Speaking to media representatives in Bengaluru, he said the State Government is maintaining strict vigil over the spread, testing and identification of the omicron infection cases.

The Chief Minister extended his greetings to the people on the New Year and hoped that the year 2022 will bring peace, happiness and prosperity to all.

Responding to questions on the comments by KPCC President D K Shivakumar against the State Government’s move to free the temples from government control and grant autonomy to the temples, Bommai said Shivakumar’s comments against the government’s move suggest his attitude towards Hindu temples and Hindu Bhakts.

The Chief Minister, however, declined to respond to the allegation that the move to grant autonomy to the temples was a political strategy to entrust control over the wealth and properties of the temples to BJP and Sangh Parivar activists. "We will give a proper reply at the right time,’’ he said.

The Chief Minister earlier held a meeting with the Deputy Commissioners of all the districts in the State on the implementation of the government programmes and other administrative matters in the conference hall of Vidhana Soudha.

“Let us work with new zeal and enthusiasm for the welfare of the people and the State’s development,’’ Bommai said.

Revenue Minister R Ashok, Rural Development and Panchayat Raj Minister K S Eshwarappa and other cabinet ministers as well as Chief Secretary P Ravi Kumar and other senior officials attended the meeting.

Women and Children’s Welfare and the minister for empowerment of the physically challenged and senior citizens Halappa Achar presented a cheque of Rs 2 lakh to the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund on behalf of the Non-Governmental Organisations of Belagavi district.

More dangerous than Omocron is the hypocricy. Take note our central government is sleeping. Five former chiefs of staff of Indian armed forces along with over hundred other citizens including various veterans, bureaucrats wrote to President Ram Nath Kovind and Prime Minister Narendra Modi against the "open call of the genocide of Indian Muslims" at various events, most recently in Uttarakhand's Haridwar’s “Dharam Sansad”.

First time in 100 year medical history WHO discarded science based protocols and measures and implemented Chinese Model of containment of a common cold virus infections turned into business of gain by big pharma aided and abetted by politicians of all countries surrendering their sovereignty to pharma mafia which is controlled by big tec and elites who had media in their pockets. For an assumed mutation named omicron which never requires any draconian measures and protocols as it is most mild form is never warranted. Only keeping fear to market useless vacs seems to be the idea. South Africa which identified the strain has withdrawn all mandates and restrictions. No more tests and isolation in that country and no shutting of schools and colleges as well as markets is resorted too. It seems they are better in understanding medical realities V/S fictional scenario WHO wants to damage economies of the world.
