Mangaluru/Udupi,Dec 31: Dakshina Kannada on , December 31 reported 30 new coronavirus cases. The case positivity rate for the district stands at 0.43%.

As per the district health bulletin, a total of 24,45,200 samples have been tested so far, out of which 23,28,818 have turned out to be negative.

The total number of positive cases in the district has risen to 1,16,382 out of which 151 are currently active.

As many as 24 patients were discharged from hospitals on Friday, taking the total number of recoveries to 1145430.

The death in the district on Friday is one. The death toll in the district so far stands at 1,701.

The district administration has collected Rs 1,11,22,430 in fines for 91,962 mask violations.

Udupi

As per the district health bulletin, as many as 13,74,405 samples have been tested for the second wave of coronavirus.

As many as 35 new cases were reported on Friday, taking the total number of cases to 77,123 out of which 124 are currently active.

A total of 4 patients were discharged from hospitals on Friday, taking the total number of recoveries to 76,520 for the second wave.

The second wave of coronavirus has claimed 289 lives in the district.
