Udupi: Unidentified persons rename Diana roundabout as ‘Mukhyaprana Circle’

Udupi, Jan 2: A circle in heart of the city has been renamed by unidentified persons overnight. The Diana Circle as it is popularly called, is a prominent landmark of the city. The circle has been renamed as ‘Mukhyaprana Circle’ overnight.

A board with the name ‘Mukhyaprana Circle’ has appeared overnight near Diana Circle. The board also has mentions of the current and former MLAs of Udupi. It also bears a name - Sharma Ramdas.

Two boards have been placed on either sides of the main road. Even though the circle is just within the eyesight of the city municipality office, the act was not noticed by the CMC officers. No action has been taken even after 24 hours.

In a previous incident, Karavali junction overpass was renamed as ‘Pejawar Sri Vishweshatheertha flyover’.

    Creating a rift between its own people????!!!….A Hindu man who worked hard and earned the name for his business and people named the circle in front of his business overwhelmingly is now been humiliated and his contribution to the society has been unrecognized and disregarded by this govt. instead this govt is putting its own label on a ready made popular accomplishments and achievements of the owner and founder. BJP knows without this bye pass method it can not achieve its goal by raising this issue in the municipal council.

    I think only older people from Udupi know why it is called Diana circle because a famous hotel used to be located there called Diana hotel. Don't worry it was not run by Catholics lol. These people who recently relocated to Udupi cause all sorts of unnecessary problems.
