Jan 2: DK reports 63 corona cases, Udupi adds 54 infections

Mangaluru/Udupi,Jan 2: Dakshina Kannada on, January 2 reported 63 new coronavirus cases. The case positivity rate for the district stands at 0.78%.

As per the district health bulletin, a total of 24,61,011 samples have been tested so far, out of which 23,44,518 have turned out to be negative.

The total number of positive cases in the district has risen to 1,16,493 out of which 231 are currently active.

As many as 18 patients were discharged from hospitals on Sunday, taking the total number of recoveries to 114560.

The death in the district on Sunday is one. The death toll in the district so far stands at 1,702.

The district administration has collected Rs 1,11,27,730 in fines for 91,015 mask violations.

Udupi

As per the district health bulletin, as many as 13,85,763 samples have been tested for the second wave of coronavirus.

As many as 54 new cases were reported on Sunday, taking the total number of cases to 77,205 out of which 186 are currently active.

A total of 8 patients were discharged from hospitals on Sunday, taking the total number of recoveries to 76,540 for the second wave.
