Even auto drivers don't give change back . They don't leave one rupee from passenger, not giving change back is OK for them.

This is familiar strategy of bus conductors. You need to be loud and ask, then only you will get. They will do everything including ignore you. This one was even better, he went to shop and tried to delay as much as possible.

Dear Achu, you may be right some time but not always. dont put every one in same scale. Good and bad people are always in society. This conductor might be sincere and got delayed in getting change from Shop. However, the passenger should have patience and no need to mishandle the conductor. Patience will save us from many inconvenience. By losing patience for few minutes, the passenger might have lost hours in police custody.

Thomas Mangalore, exactly. Why blame the conductor always? When everyone comes with big note for a ticket of ten Rupees where can the conductor give them all.One should be realistic and passenger self could give or bring change of ten rupees ,this situation was not arise. When his bus is delayed due to waiting for change ,no need of assaulting conductor .Go with next one.He or all know conductor doesnt return change ,so bring change with .one knows the ticket cost.Be clever.Conductor is not a exchange maschine. One has to go with time.Next time this passenger knows better to have change with him.so no fight no assault.no need to wait for change ,or do it digital.Or go walking.
