Chikkamagaluru, Jan 5: A woman, who got separated from her parents as a child and went to Kerala, got reunited with her mother after 22 years. This noble work was done by a social worker Fish Monu, president of socially active organisation of Moodigere and the members of the organization.

Anjali, who is residing at Nellamani village which is at a distance of 30 km from Calicut and has married Saji, got reunited with her mother Chaitra, who still works as labourer in an estate at Lokavalli village of Moodigere, after 22 years.

Chaitra and Kalimuthu couple of Tamilnadu origin were working as labourers in the estate at Mutthigepura village of the district 22 years ago. Their daughter Anjali, who was five years old, had left with an elderly person, who was a Mahout of elephant and his boy, to Kerala. Later the search of Chaitra and Kalimuthu for their daughter did not yield any result. However, they did not complain the same to the police in the hope that they will find their daughter one or the other day.

Anjali, who went with elderly Mahout of Kerala and his young boy, worked at his home. Later she got married to Saji of Nellamani near Calicut and had three children. Recently, Mustafa of Mangaluru origin, had gone to Kerala and came in contact with Saji and Anjali couple. Anjali had requested with Mustafa to trace her mother who is from Moodigere.

Mustafa brought the matter to the notice of Fish Monu, president of social organization of Moodigere. Fish Monu began efforts to unite mother and daughter through the members of their organization. Dawood, one of the member came to know that Chaitra, mother of Anjali is working in an estate near Lokavalli village. Fish Monu and Dawood met Chaitra and made sure that she is the woman whom Anjali is tracing for. They informed the matter to Anjali and her husband Saji, who arrived from Kerala on Monday and met Chaitra.

Finally, the efforts of social worker Fish Monu and team ended in mother and daughter uniting after 22 long years. The video of the meeting of Chaitra and her daughter Anjali is going viral on social media.
