Mangaluru: PM's security breach - BJP Yuva Morcha holds protest in front of Congress office

Mangaluru, Jan 6: Condemning the breach in the security during Prime Minister Narendra Modi's visit to Punjab, members of Yuva Morcha of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in Dakshina Kannada staged a protest in front of the District Congress Committee office in Mallikatte on Thursday January 6.

The protesters raising slogans gathered in front of the Congress office. In the protest, a Congress worker waived the Congress flag in front of the protesters. As a result, a verbal scuffle broke out between the Congress and BJP party workers.

Police intervened and took the situation under control.

In response, condemning BJP Yuva Morcha's protest in front of Congress office, Congress workers under the leadership of former MLC Ivan D'Souza organized 'BJP office Chalo' march to BJP office.

The protesters had planned the protest in front of the BJP office. As protesters took out the march to the BJP office, police intervened and stopped the protesters. As result, Congress workers staged protests sitting on the road.

Police commissioner N Shashi Kumar visited the spot. The police detained the protesters.

    Ideally the protest should have been held in Punjab. If civilization is lost everything will be lost. But why people were encouraged, to behave badly in the past? Former PM Manmohan Singh was hurled shoes in a venue in Gujarat! Sharad Pawar was slapped. Arwind Kejriwal was also slapped. Was that right? Why people had no issues then?

    Everyone knows that the drama took place in Punjab was just to avoid addressing empty chairs and to gain some sympathy votes. Otherwise why would he back off when we can dare China and Pakistan. Aren't we proud of our 56" ? BJPians should protest in front of BJP office instead of protesting in front of Congress office.

    These jobless fellows don't know that people failed to turn up hear Modi although busses were laid on and only 700 turned up and he decided to go by car by a different route than that was agreed and traffic was held up by protesting farmers. He was held up for 20 minutes where as farmers waited for 15 months and 700 of them died during that period. He had no time to meet them but now there is plenty of time for electioneering. Question of security doesn't arise as he was acompanied by camondos and police.
