We had a water connection from the municipality in Udupi & when they switched over to the broader pipe, they dug at the center of the road & they failed to give connection to us. We went & talked to one of the known officer at the municipality, which failed to give any results. We never used much water from this connection as we had our own well, but bills kept coming despite having no water connection after switching over to the new broader pipe. When I went to India last time, I applied to disconnect the water connection for which I had to pay the pending bills of around ₹4500 & then paying money to the person to disconnect & take away the meter for free for which we had paid money initially when we applied for the connection.
